Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Chelsea vs. Fulham at English Premier League
These two teams are unbeaten, although they didn’t win many games either in the opening two rounds of the EPL campaign. Fulham has two ties, while on the other hand, Chelsea has a tie and a victory earned last weekend on the road at the London Stadium. Their games last year were interesting, with plenty of excitement, and hopefully, that trend will continue.
Chelsea
The Blues smashed West Ham on the road, 5-1, displaying a perfect performance. Furthermore, Maresca couldn’t count on Cole Palmer, who was injured just before the match and had to sit out for the 90 minutes. However, all this wasn’t a problem because Chelsea looked superb.
Joao Pedro is a jackpot for this unit, as he immediately made an impact following his arrival from Brighton. Many believed that it might be a short-term burst, but his performances overall remain at a high level.
Over the last five games played, Chelsea netted twice or more on four occasions, while keeping a clean sheet three times. The fatigue from the FIFA Club World Cup will eventually kick in, but for now, that’s not the case.
Fulham
Two games, two ties, and overall, a satisfying result for this team. After snapping a point on the road in Brighton, 1-1, the Cottagers played 1-1 against Man United, at Craven, which is a good result in general. They now seek to extend the unbeaten streak, and if possible, notch the first win of the year.
Fulham played three preseason games, winning all of them. The rivals were solid: Nottingham Forest, Al Ittihad, and lastly Eintracht Frankfurt.
What is noticeable is that Cottagers play games with goals on both ends. Counting the preseason and the EPL, we’ve seen both teams netting in 4 of 5 contests. Though, the last three did end with under 2.5 goals, that we have to say.
Chelsea: Sanchez; James, Acheampong, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Enzo; Neto, Palmer, Estevao; Joao Pedro
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Cuenca, Bassey; Berge, Lukic; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz
In last year’s games, the guests have won. First at Stamford, Fulham triumphed 1-2, and Chelsea hit back with the same result at the Cottage.
Also, nine of the last ten games at Stamford Bridge have seen under 2.5 goals.
The Blues have been confident so far, and even without Cole Palmer, they look strong. However, they tend to struggle against teams that defend well and don’t want to attack, that is, to open. This is why we selected under 2.5 goals as our final pick for this event.
Our verdict: Under 2.5 goals
