Prediction, Odds & Betting Switzerland vs. Spain at Nations League
The Swiss unit made a lot of noise in Germany, and we, too, were hyped because of them. We aren’t being ironic when saying that this crew had the potential to reach the finals, but like always, small details often decide outcomes. On the other hand, Spain showed its class, winning the competition confidently and with style. It seems that the Red Fury has another fantastic generation at its disposal.
Switzerland
The Swiss side was excellent in Germany. They lost to England in the quarterfinals after penalties, but they didn’t disappoint at all in that match. Furthermore, Sommer and the boys were a better team. That was Switzerland’s first failure following eight straight meetings.
This team plays tough and inefficient football. Just two matches of the previous 10 have seen over 2.5 goals, and that’s because Switzerland knows how to control the game, when to lower the pace, and beat the rivals using pure tactics.
Some players decided to retire from the national team after this tournament, but all the key players are still here, ready to lead the team towards new success.
Spain
Pedri and Gabi were injured throughout last year, and many Spanish fans were frightened that this unit wouldn’t be able to play good football because they were not 100% ready. Well, you saw the answer.
With Rodri and Fabian Ruiz in the midfield, there’s no need for any concern. Simply, these two guys bossed the entire championship showing master class. Of course, Yamal and the rest of the team massively contributed, but we are free to say that Spain wouldn’t be the European champion if it weren’t for the mentioned duo.
This will be the Red Fury’s second road game in four days after visiting Serbia earlier this week, but we don’t believe that will be a problem.
Switzerland: Kobel; Elvedi, Rodriguez, Akanji; Widmer, Xhaka, Freuler, Zakaria; Ndoye, Vargas; Embolo
Spain: Raya; Mingueza, Le Normand, Laporte, Cucurella; Olmo, Rodri, Ruiz: Yamal, Oyrazabal, Williams
Two years ago, Switzerland and Spain played in the UEFA Nations League. The guests won both games: Spain 0-1 and Switzerland 1-2. At the 2020 EURO, these teams met in the quarterfinals, and Spain won following a penalty shootout.
When playing at home, the Swiss team always tries to attack and press the rivals, and that strategy will be implemented here as well. Spain won’t defend, that’s for sure, as they have nothing to calculate about. Since the Nations League comes following the EURO, we expect a looser approach from both units, and our pick here will be for both teams to score.
Our verdict: Both teams to score
