Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Bueno Silva
The 41-year-old Holly Holm still attracts attention in the MMA community. She has been around for quite some time and carries a certain legacy with her. Meanwhile, Mayra Bueno Silva is a rising prospect in the ladies’ UFC bantamweight division, having a solid record and being in very good shape lately. She hopes to beat the American star and move up in the rankings, possibly getting a shot at the title.
Holly Holm
The Preacher’s Daughter is a symbol of longevity among the ladies in the UFC. At 41 years, she still isn’t considering retiring and is currently among the division’s top fighters. Without Amanda Nunes in the mix, she just might get another chance to attack the title, but for that to happen, Holm needs a victory here.
Holm has 15 wins and six defeats in her career, with mixed results lately. Since 2020, she has won three battles and lost one, beating Raquel Pennington, and Irene Aldana, before losing to Ketlen Vieira via a split decision. In her last appearance in the octagon, Holm was better than Yana Santos. All the victories happened after a decision.
The veteran is a stellar boxer, who didn’t get a single triumph on the mat, but either by a KO or a decision. She has an extremely good cardio for her age, taking the rivals to the distance without any problems.
Mayra Bueno Silva
The 31-year-old Brazilian is riding a three-match winning streak. She has been competing in the UFC since 2018 when she earned the spot on the card against Gillian Anderson and won. Previously, she was a part of Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil.
Her last defeat was in October 2021 to Manon Fiorot, and after that, we saw her beating Wu Yanan, Stephanie Egger, and Lina Lansberg (earning a Performance of the Night bonus against the latter). In general, her previous rivals weren’t high-caliber names.
Unlike Holm, she likes taking care of the business on the mat, and seven of Bueno Silva’s ten triumphs were via submission. She defeats her rivals with a variety of solutions when being on the ground.
Holm might be better with cardio, but overall, she has become a bit sloppy in the past two fights and isn’t as dominant as before. Bueno Silva’s grappling is excellent, but on the other hand, she doesn’t have the needed experience to bring down one of the best in the division. That’s the only reason why we pick the American to triumph.
Our verdict: Holm wins
